Joe – Great Warhoop Junkyard Find of 1988
The Bortz Auto Collection will frequently get requests from car clubs and individuals to come and visit the collection so now we have some great news! With the outstanding response of the restored 1955 LaSalle Roadster debut and the unrestored 1955 LaSalle Sedan (both General Motors 1955 Motorama concept cars) at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance March 2013 we have decided to continue the Bortz Motorama display with the sponsorship from Chubb Insurance and will be displaying four of the General Motors Motorama cars from the Bortz Auto Collection at the fabulous Geneva Concours d’Elegance in beautiful downtown Geneva, IL on August 25, 2013.
The cars that will be featured are the 1955 LaSalle Roadster that in 2012 concluded a 22 year restoration. Many know the story that the 1955 LaSalle Roadster was part of the Great Warhoop Find of 1988 and was excavated from the junkyard in pieces. The sister car to the roadster, the 1955 LaSalle sedan, one of the other cars from the Warhoop find will be shown in ‘as found condition’. The third car was also part of the Warhoop find and has been beautifully restored to 1955 GM Motorama show condition. The fourth car that will be shown is the 1953 Buick Wildcat I, this was not part of the Warhoop find but a star of the 1953 GM Motorama
This is a wonderful opportunity to view four of the legendary General Motors concept cars from the Bortz Auto Collection at a great event that is conveniently located to Chicagoland enthusiasts.
